Quality Health Foundation to Provide Grant Funding for 2017
Announces Annual Requests for Proposals

October 21, 2016, Easton, MD — Quality Health Foundation (QHF) announces a call for proposals for the 2017-18 grant period. QHF is a national not-for-profit organization committed to improving health and well-being throughout communities across Maryland and Washington, DC. They will award grants to eligible organizations that work to “improve health care through measurable outcome improvement projects.” Since 2006, the Foundation has awarded approximately $4.5 million to over 65 different organizations in Maryland and the District of Columbia.

QHF will fund healthcare projects, focusing on the uninsured and underinsured patient. Selected projects should include well defined goals with measureable outcomes. Applications for grants will be accepted from December 1, 2016 through 5:00 p.m. EST on January 18, 2017. Applicants will be notified of their award status in June 2017.

“We are embarking on a new era in healthcare accessibility. The projects we have funded are varied in scope, innovative in design, and positively impact health quality in ways that meet the new patient-centered model of care,” said Molly Burgoyne, MD, Chair of QHF’s Board of Directors. “We are particularly interested in non-profit organizations committed to improving communication, education, measurable outcomes, and chronic disease prevention. Programs dedicated to high standards of care are a priority.”

Last year, 15 different organizations received grants—including Calvary Woman’s services, HOPE (Health and Outreach Point of Entry), and the Maryland Foundation of Dentistry for the Handicapped.

“The service you provide truly changed my life and has given me a new beginning” says an actual grant recipient. “You gave me a better quality of life.”

“Every dollar makes a huge difference in the life of our disabled patients! The Quality Health Foundation’s award of $35,000 converts into an amazing $211,000 worth of direct dental care for our patients.” Says Lilian R Marsh, Executive Director, Maryland Foundation of Dentistry for the Handicapped.

Priority areas include programs that:

  • Improve access to health care services to the unserved and under-served
  • Improve understanding of health issues
  • Demonstrate improvement through measureable outcomes of stated goals
