Funding Overview
QHF funds projects of many types, including service demonstrations and rapid cycle change projects that have the potential to produce high measurable impacts on health outcomes. Grants of up to $50,000 may be awarded to eligible organizations, for a one-year funding cycle. Grants may occasionally be extended for a second year.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must be from Maryland or the District of Columbia, where Delmarva is the Quality Improvement Organization (QIO) for the area. All organizations must be committed to improving the health of individuals at the community level are encouraged to apply. Examples of organizations that may apply for funding:
- Faith-based
- Non-profit
- Government
- Hospital/Provider Educational
Funding Priorities
Our focus is on programs that demonstrate improved health care delivery, quality and measurable outcomes from a consumer's perspective.
Priority areas include:
- Improved treatment through the use of "best practices"
- Improved access to health care services
- Improved communication of health knowledge
- Promotion of healthy lifestyles and quality of life
- Promotion of culturally and linguistically appropriate care
- Promotion of consumer-centered care and decision-making
- Improvements in dissemination of health-related information
- Promotion of patient safety
- Promotion of "best practices"
- Programs that reach under-served populations (rural, homeless, uninsured, etc.)
- Reimbursable direct patient care services
- Capital expenses
- Lobbying
- Fundraising activities
- Conferences
